Concept 40 #1

One movie where a character learns something from disappointment is Titanic. In Titanic the main character Rose wants to be with Jack forever, but he ends up dying. Although they fought the whole movie to stay together they end up being separated by death. Although it was a sad ending we can tell that Rose still learned a lot of things from Jack. He teaches her to break free from her mom's control and abandon her awful fiance. She learns how to be independent from jack and although Jack died she still accomplished her goal.

Concept 39 #1-3

1. I have a fear of criticism and grasshoppers. So a situation where I turn into a grasshopper who is hated and criticized by all the other grasshoppers, but eventually I realize that I am beautiful and I don't need any ones approval would help me get over my fear.

2. I am a leader at church and I had to share the word one weak and I was extremely nervous. I overcame my fear by realizing why I was teaching witch was all for the glory of god so no matter what he will be with me.

3. My hero is afraid of losing his wife to time because he is told that he only has little time with her. A conflict where he though he lost the little time he has with his wife will teach him to just appreciate the time he has with his deceased wife.

Concept 37 #1, #2

1. Titanic's ending blew me away because I did not expect one of the main characters to die and I also didn't expect that she would throw away that beautiful necklace. The writer in order to make sure we don't find out the ending prematurely made Rose and Jack fall in love so deeply that you wouldn't think that even death wouldn't dare come close to them. And also they survived until the end and went through a lot so you would think he would survive but that wasn't the case.

3. One time at camp me and a couple of other girls pranked the boys buy duck taping their door shut. We made sure that they were all a sleep and in the middle of the night we walked over and duck taped their door in complete silence. We also put beans under their mattress's that day to make sure they don't get a good night sleep. We were up very early and we banged on the windows until they ran to open the door only to find that it was taped shut with duck tape. This trick we played on the boys can be used in film to trick views into not predicting the out come by precision and accuracy . We had to know exactly when to get up and when to wake them up in order to guarantee the success of out manipulation.

Concept 36 #3

3. In the story that I am writing the main characters conflict is his confusion about where he is and he can't be in one time period for a long amount of time and he only has little time with is wife. Three ways of solving this conflict is to:
1. He could find a scape goat to time traveling there fore being with his wife and his friend longer
2. He could just enjoy the time he has with his friend and wife and let the universe control his destiny
3. He could die also so that he wouldn't have to live with out them.
I think that mixing the first and second scenario would be formidable because if he fought for his friends and wife then maybe the universe would favor this destiny for him.

Concept 35 1-3

a.
1. Harry Potter
2. Luck Sky walker
b.
If I was in the shoes of Happy Potter I would run away from Vouldimort until it is necessary that I face him. I would be as brave because bravery can coast me my life instead I would be wise and hide out in a place he can never find me.
c.
I took a risk in taking my SAT Subject test, because I wasn't as prepared as I wanted to be but I did it any way. The consequences of not taking this risk might have bee the fact that I wouldn't get into a good college. The final outcome is that the test was very simple and I think I did better than I had expected. I was satisfied because I know have nothing to worry about when applying to colleges because I know I did my best.

Quickwrite Perspectives

One movie that I have see from different perspective is Flipped. In flipped the story is told from different perspective. The boy's perspective and the girl's perspective. The perspectives are different because the girl at first is convinced that the boy likes her, but when you look at it form his perspective you see that he is actually afraid and grossed out by her. One story of the two lovers is told from different perspectives and this gives us an insight into what is truly happening in the characters mind.

Non Linear Scripts

Alamz's Skript
The premise is about a secret division in the government who has people under a program that erases memory with a chip if any one figures out any of their secrets. The characters are Jenny and the X Division. Jenny is trying to remember all that happened to her and all that the X division did to her, but if they detect any brain activity in her memories they will delete her memory unless she rights it down. It is non linear because she is constantly starting over in her memory and unless she writes things down she keeps repeating the same things.

Ranbir's Script
The premise is that Henry is in a sticky bloody situation, but he is given the chance to go back and fix things. The main character Henry meets a a girl named Kate and he falls in love, but how did he end up killing her. The conflict is that he is trying to fix the fact that he has killed because he is given another chance to do things again. It is non linear because it is going backwards. We see why he did the things he did and we see if he is able to change the outcome of his situation.

Concept 34 #2

If I could possess any superhero power it would have to be flying because it is amazing. Who wouldn't want to fly ll around the world. In order to defeat a nemesis with flying power the hero must also fly and shoot lasers at the other guy. The hero might also trap the villain in a caged box so that he won't be able to fly.

Structure of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

The structure of this film was very different because it went backwards, but mid way went forwards and they ended where they started. I liked i because it required a lot of thought within the viewers mind, but it wasn't impossible to figure out. We were given clues of where the film is by Clementines hair and different memories they had together. The story is complicated so if it was done chronologically it would have taken away from the complexity of the story. This movie is kind of like Citizen Kane because we are told the ending first but the rest of the story is told afterward in a bazaar sequence.

Concept 33 #1

Once I was about to walk home from the light rail station and the driver just starts talking to me. He asked me how I was, what I liked to do, how my day was going, and other very general stuff. At first I was a little scared , but when I realized that his motives are pure I was astonished by his kindness. He was actually concerned about how I was doing and it feels nice to have people care and be kind to you. So as a ripple affect now I am nice to anyone I see. I talk to people I see all through out my day and ask them how they are doing, to show that I care. Although talking to strangers might be dangerous, it can sometime be the kindest thing you can ever do.

Concept 32 #2

2. A movie that is primarily subjective by nature is The book of Elie, Because it gives a higher subjective view of how the world will turn out if there is a huge wipe out of the human race and how will the remaining people survive and learn what is moral. It is influenced based on a personal opinion or view.

Concept 27

1. I think he should ask her in the school corridor between classes because it is a general area that can be used in another scene. Some might say doing it in a sketchy atmosphere would be better, but that kind of scene is obscure and would drive away the viewer into another directing than what what was originally intended. It also doesn't seem realistic that the transaction would take place in any other setting other than in school. The topic is in school there for the scene should be in a school setting.

I am sitting in a classroom environment.

2. INT. Day- Alex and Betty are taking a test in their film studies class.
Alex
Hey what did you get for number one

Betty
Be Quit, Alex you are going to get me in trouble

Alex

Come on, I would help you
Just tell me what it is

Betty
(loudly)
Fine it is...
The teach Mr. Schrieber interupts
Mr. Shreiber

What!!!!. Betty bring your test over here

Betty
But...

Mr. Schrieber

No questions bring it over here

Betty
See what you did

Alex
Sorry Betty

Betty walks over to the teacher with her head down and hands him her test. The bright classroom lights gleam at her disappointed face.

Mr. Schrieber

Wow, Betty you have just won the student of the year here at Gunderson High School
You don't have to finish your test just throw it away.

We see a sigh of relief on Betty's face.

3. INT. Day- A group of girls are walking in the double doors.
EXT. Day- A mean guy flirts with all of them.
INT Day- the mean guy turns into a Caterpillar
EXT Day- he has to experience life as a Caterpillar and learn to be good human being.
INT DAY- he finally blossoms into a beautiful human being

Groundhog Day

This movie, Groundhog Day, uses a non linear structure by repeating the same day over and over again until the main problem is resolved. contrasting it to Run Lola Run, this movie also uses the method of repetition. The difference is that in Run Lola Run the repetition is only three times, but in Groundhog Day the repetition is numerous amount of times. Furthermore the main characters grow from the repetition and finally get the ending that they want. They are both amazing movies hat use non- linear structure to emphasize the change in the character.

Pilot Script #4

I really liked the news of her pregnancy and the surprise it brings to the reader. I also liked the anticipation that occurred at the end of the script. I think they should meet at a different place than a party like because it is overdone. I think they can work on the format, but it was a good script. I think they can also work on the flow of the script and make it so that the beginning is also interesting.

Pilot Script #3

I really liked the tension in the beginning of the script because it gives it a dark scene from the start. I also liked the transition that occurred for the main character. The dialogue was a little inappropriate and very unrealistic, but it did have a good relation with the characters. I really liked the end where he wakes up in the ambulance with his ex girlfriend. Overall it is a very well developed script.

6th Period Pilot 2

I loved the start of there script because it was an eye catcher. The placement of action in the first scene was really smart. I also liked the flashback they did and all the voice overs they had. It is nice to have a twist in the way you introduce the character and there main conflict in life witch is to find her way back to her normal life.

6th Period Pilot 1

I really like the love triangle going on between the friends. It did get confusing sometimes to keep up with the story line. I also suggest that the writers fix the description sections so that all the action is not in the description. I found the story line sort of interesting, but there are too many things going on for me to follow. Simplicity goes a long way.

Monday, November 14, 2011

Savina's Group Pilot

I really liked the story line it was very interesting. There was some grammar error but overall I liked the whole movie. I really liked the ending because it was unexpected and very interesting. It made me want to read more. I thing the situation with her parents was a little overdone and it had a weird ending with her parents agreeing. It was too quick of a transition from hating each other to agreeing.

Friday, November 4, 2011

Phyco

What we can learn from the screenplay of psycho is the unique way of telling a story. The stories structure is creative because the hero is killed off at towards the beginning of the movie which is not done in most movies. The characters are very unique because I have never seen a movie where the killer has two identities. The writer uses humor to describe how crazy the man was. He hint at things of the two identities before it is revealed. There is symbolism in the bird that represents being in a cage or being tied down.

Concept 25 #3

Will the cheater ever get caught?
How will the girl survive?
How can the kid find his parents?
Will the family ever be happy again?
How will he find his daughter?
Why would the girl kill her husband?
Will he ever find love?
How did she die?
Will he ever be a good guy?
How are they going to have a good time?
Who is behind the murder?
How will they get out of this island?

My friends liked these teasers because they are common and very suspenseful.

Critigue Pilot #2

1. I think the format is really good I give it a 3. I like how everything seemed to flow, but I suggest making the descriptions evened out so there isn't too much action in one description.

2. The characters are individuals and they each have their own way of acting. I give it a 2 because the main character should be analyzed more and described more.

3. I give the overall story a 2 because it was relatable and interesting to read, but the story line seems too redundant and over done.

I suggest that they should add some more dimensions to the next few scenes so that it becomes mysterious and unexpected.

Tuesday, November 1, 2011

Robby and Juliana's Scene

1.The format is a 2 for me because some times the exact location isn't given
2. The characters are 3 for me because they are very well developed and dynamic.
3. The story is relatable to youth today and very entertaining so I give it a 2 because it lacked flow and was a little wordy.

Horror Films

I really don't like Horror movie because being scared is not a form of entertainment for me. I would rather be laughing or watch mysteries than be screaming my lungs off. I do like mysteries and suspense Tv shows though like House and Grey's Anatomy.

Lost Pilot Script

Jack is the type of person that take initiative he does what needs to get done and is a affirmative leader. Kate is scared initially, but she is strong hearted and will get over her fear to survive. Hurley is a chill probably young guy that talks like a hippie. Boone tries to please everyone and is very willing to do something to please others.

Concept 24 #2

If I was to describe the plot of the film i was writing it would be Cheaters meets high school. When we shared this plot with the class many of the students including the teacher were fascinated by it. Some people said it is a movie they would like to see because it deals with issues teen lovers have today. I shows the drama and issues teens today are interested in.

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Concept 23 #3

3. I want to write a dramatic story that ends in surprising twist. The governing objective behind the main characters action would be to find who they are and remain in a unique form of character even if the plot may get complicated. The quest will be successful to a small degree because everyone wants to be certain way sometime in there life and hardships make people stronger and alter there characteristics.

Tuesday, October 25, 2011

Desperate House Wifes

1. The three character introduced are Carlos, Gabriella, and Lynette. They were introduced in a unique way because the dead narrator introduced them with what they do how they act and their lifestyles.

2. The conflict is that Mary is dead and how appearances are deceiving and also marital issues.

3. The writing is very sophisticated simple. Yes, Lynett is sassy and Gabriella is fierce and feisty. It does push the story forwards because we kind of know it will be focused in secrets.

Concept 22 #3

Our film is Plot driven because each character is unable to control what the other does. When the guys cheats or when the newspaper reports the characters simply reach, but don't generally control the conflict. The conflict come from external forces like the newspaper that are generally beyond the control of the parties Jane and Ashley.

Monday, October 24, 2011

Pilot

- Our characters are unique because they each have there own personality and even though they may be classified as a jock or mean girl each will have different characterization because everyone has their own uniqueness. We introduce them by showing their different personalities and hobbies.

-The problem is that Ashley is jealous of Jane and John tucker is cheating with both of them. Ashley eventually finds out, but there is a suspense because Jane has no idea.

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

My So Called Life

I like the developments of the characters and how rounded each are. I will use this in out show by making our characters very diverse and round characters. I don't like the fact that we get to see what the main character is thinking. It may be helpful to the viewer, but it leaves little room for acting. It gives too much away that the audience should analyze so we will not use it in out how.

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Concept 20 #1

In the film that I plan to write I think that the fact that my characters will have tough lives at home or there parents are always arguing will relate to the audience. Most kids today have parents that always fight so this will be easy to relate to for the youth audience I want to have.

Thursday, October 13, 2011

Concept 19 #3

I feel really strongly about the lack of interest in education from the youth today. To communicate this issue I would make a film using teen characters that didn't care about education and there outcome. I would do this film at a high school comparing good kids to bad kids. I would use film as a wakeup call to communicate my passion about the lack of interest in education. I hope the film creates a fear in people that motivates them to do better.

Concept 18 #2

William Shakespeare's Plays Adoptions
She is the Man
The Lion King
Romeo and Juliet
Gromeo and Juliet
Forbidden Planet
All is Well Ends Well

The most successful is romeo and Juliet because it can relate to all times. Its story line is very flexible and love is timeless and the situations and conflict on Romeo and Juliet can relate to any love story. Shakespeare know that this play would be time less and relatable to all those who are capable of understanding love.

Concept 16

I feel I relate to Alex from Wizards of Waverdly Place. Things we have in common are
1. She is sometimes lazy
2. she makes fun of her siblings
3. she is sarcastic
4. she has short hair
5. she is very pretty(lol)
6. she is very caring
7. she doesn't let others know how much she cares

Concept 15 #2

We can use the theme United we stand, divided we fall by doing stories on

1. A football teem that kept failing because they disliked each other but an amazing coach brings them together and they start winning all their games.

2. A Union of Workers are protesting about the crappy jobs, but each has their own ideas of what the new policies should be so they start falling apart, until a young man reminds them why they are fighting and they come together to change the old policies.

3. A cheerleading team wants to win the championships, but the girls are having drama. They realize that their conflicts are ruing their chances of winning so they make up and win the championships.

Concept 14

1. The set-up that introduces the main character is the small documentary in the binging of the movie.
2. The catalyst inciting an incident that will impact the hero's status quo is the first scene where the reporters are trying to find a better way of remembering Kane, by finding out what Rosebud means. Which is the main point of the story
3. The first major fly in the ointment is when the reporter approaches the big safe where Thacher's point of view of Kane is revealed.
4. The point of no return is when the reporter has spoken to Leland and he got more insight that made him determined to find more about Rosebud.
5. The second major fly in the ointment is Susan's point of view because it had he most insight and the most depth into who Kane really was.
6. When the reporter leaves Susan he is kind of bewildered because he is more confused about Kane that he was at the beginning. He still had the question of what Rosebud was.
7. The resolution of the conflict is that the reporter realizes that Rosebud is the important thing about Kane's life but hat was important was that he was a lonely man who just wanted some real company. Also the resolution happens for the viewers when we finally see the word Rosebud on Kan's old slay.

Citizen Kane- Non-Linear Movies

I liked the non linear structure of Citizen Kane because it was really fascinating. I hate black and white movies, but Citizen Kane was very dynamic and mysterious. The advantage of this non-linear structure is the depth it adds to the movie the negative is that it get confusing and people may get lost because most people want their movie to be straight forward. Well I do think that it is a really great movie because there wasn't movies like this back then and to come out with a dynamic movie like this was spectacular. It started trend of movies that challenge our knowledge and understanding.

Charles Foster Cane

Kan is a wealthy man with a huge house. His house had everything from a zoo to big statues. He was married twice and divorced twice. He wanted a political position but after a scandal he was unable to run. He has a famous news paper branch that writes a lot about Kane himself. He eventually dies for a mysterious reason.

Concept 13 #1

I sometime wish I was a more outspoken person. It is nice to be heard at times when you have something important to say. If my life was a movie my parallel self would at this very moment be discussing a very important issue in different parts of the world. She would be public phenomenon on informing others about important life or death situations. This path that she is on would intersect with the reality because she would be in her high school class speaking out. She would be nervous at first, but her shyness would soon disappear and she would make her voice herd in all of the country.

Best Freaks and Geeks

My favorite episode so far of Freaks and Geeks is the most recent one called Kim kelly is my friend. It was the best because Lindsey finally introduces her freak friend to her parents. Her two worlds come together and she is starting to actually get along with Kim. Kim was the only one that rejected Lindsey from the freaks group so now that they get along we will see how Lindsey will assimilate to be more like the Freaks.

Being at a day care it made me think about my childhood. I felt emotional thinking about when I was a kid and all the people that used to watch me. As I saw the kid run around and play with one another I was really touched. I saw the crazy kids that were very distributive they had made a pile of toys so huge that it appealed to me. One of the quite little kids came up to me and hugged me and gave me a kiss. I then realized no matter how they act they are all warm and innocent at heart.

Concept 10

1.I feel like I know a lot about track and field, high school life, church, teens, and Latest TV. Shows. I would use these areas f expertise to wright about teens in there high school life involved in track, church or that watch TV shows.
2. 1. At home resources like my family and relatives are available to me 2. the Internet and Library will help me look up things and eventually become an expert on this subject 3. within my community I can talk to my teachers, mentors and other experts on the subject in order to know more about it.
3. I know nothing about water Polo. I would write a short film showing people that water polo is the best sport by learning more about it. I would interview my friend who are water polo players and my family members that watch water polo. I would look up all the great things about water polo and get more informed. I would go to the library and do a through research on water polo and hopefully I would the become an expert.

Concept 9

1. The top three movies worldwide are Avatar, Titanic, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2.
2. I would mess these stories together by taking the main characters Rose and Jack and placing them in a situation where they have to kill the horcrux in order to kill the enemy Voldemort in a magical land called pandora. This new story would be called Fighting Lovers in Pandora and it woulds have Rose and Jack in an adventure to kill the horcrux. The setting is going to be pandora which is a beautiful land filled with amazing creatures and animals that fly and that people can ride on. Rose and Jack ride on the flying Ikran's in order to kill the horcrux's with the teeth of snake.
3. This film would appeal to adventure and action loving teens. Also teens that maybe have a crush on Rose or Jack.

Friday, September 9, 2011

Concept 8

1. To set the scene I would make Reese Witherspoon and Orlando Bloom in a high school as seniors about to go to there last football game. Reese and Orlando have been lovers since freshman year and now that they are going to different colleges they are discussing weather they should stay together. Orlando doesn't want to lose Reese but he also doesn't want to hold her back. They meet under the bleachers to discuss their situation when the bleachers fall on them. Reese screams and runs out complaining about how she might have killed her baby. What happens now?

3. The waiter Alana Bloom is sitting at the bus stop thinking about her day. She works for a mean boss and she is sick of it she wants out but how else can she pay for her rent. She is deep in thought thinking of other jobs she can have when a beach ball rolls to her feet. She looks up and sees the ocean that she always surfed in. She thinks about all the amazing times she had with her dad surfing, then she thinks about her fathers death witch brings her out of the flashback. Surfing is definitely not an option or at least she thinks so.

TV Showes

I love this show because I can relate to the character. I think the main character is a lot like me and and I enjoy all the adventures she has.

I love this show because it is a reality show on fashion and although i'm not really a fashionista I love watching people transform into a whole new person.

I love this show because once i got hooked into the drama I felt like I was a part of the movie. It started a while ago and I felt like as the characters in this show grew up I grew up with them because they are my age.

Concept 7

1. Single day- Hangover, Woke up the next day and they were trying to figure out what happened to them and trying to find the groom before his wedding.
2. A Weak- Titanic, The characters develop feeling for one another through out the weak and they learn about each others world.
3. Several Months-500 Days of Summer, Each day they pointed out what happened and pointed out what day it is from the 500 days.
4.Ten or More Years-Forest Gump, They used a flashback technique where forest is already in the future and trying to explain the past to his friend n a bus stop.

Short Script Reflection

I think that my best scene is the introduction and the character development, I pointed out my main character's strength and weaknesses well and also described the way she acts and what she likes and doesn't like.I think that the conflict and action scene could have been better my conflict could have been more developed and the actions could have been shown better. I would improve the adventure part of it because i think everything else was very developed and explained but the action and adventure went by really fast.

Concept 6

a)
GET OF MY LAND
1. one old man and two 20-30 aged character. One was a girl and two of them were men.
2.One location a mountain hill.
3. The problem was that the husband and wife were in the mans property and they refused to get off. The solution was that he shot both of them.
4. 5 min I liked the mysterious feel to it I also liked the twist at the end. I didn't like the fact the fact that it was a little creepy.

b)
It can be turned into a full time movie because there is a lot that can be added to a mysterious film.
c)
M favorite movie is A Walk To Remember. The scene where the guy asks her father is he could date her and impresses the father by asking permission is a good part to turn into a short film. This is because that part has a call to adventure and a conflict that he resolves.

California Dream

My family came to California straight from Ethiopia, Africa and we chose to settle here because of the nice weather and all our family is here. My family has not always been here my family's generation goes back to Ethiopia. My family compares to the Trasks and the Hamilton's because we moved around a lot to try and find a stable place to live. People that come to California are young adventures people who are into sunshine or families who like good weather and are not scared of earthquakes.

Paradox and Dream

"paradox and dream"
Americans
are
restless
we try to assimilate others
we are all afraid of each other
materialistic
agree/disagree
example
they are always trying to move around not settled
we see our way as the only way
we wont talk to strangers
we don't know how to do anything but we like having everything

American Exceptionalism

Americans are unique in a away that we have a history that is no other country. We were built from self determination and democracy. There is a lot of propaganda the we are fed all of our life's but that doesn't mean that there is noting unique about America. If there was a line with different counties of people you will not be able to tell which is American unless you converse with them and find out there history. East of Eden describes American as on going people with a lot of history and a people that move around and can adapt easily.

Timshel

The concept of Timshel or Thou Mayest says that a person might do what he is told or has a power to not do what he is told. This concept is all through out East of Eden and also connects to the topic of Cain and Abel because they each had a choice between good or bad or to do or not to do. East of Eden focuses on man kind and the root of people's actions witch is described in Thou Mayest or in peoples personal choice. Adam also faced this concept when his wife left him. Cathy had left Adam by choice and it was a choice to do bad but Adam instead of choosing to let his anger control him he chose to take care of his children and move on.

Free thinker

In the novels we have read this year there are many free thinkers that didn't conform to others thoughts of thing. One character is Dana from Kindred. She saw how the mindset of Rufus was very mixed up so she was free minded enough to help him understand about the true meaning of humanity. She kept her faith in herself and in the true reality while embarking a whole different period of this world. Another free thinker is Jone Proctor in the Crucible. Although many were convinced that telling a lie was the only way to survive he kept his truth and his way of thought and didn't conform to society. In Inherit the Wind Drummond is keeping his way of thought no matter what the court had already instilled in their head. He fought for what he thought was write and completely risked his popularity and likability.

Envelope

The ending of the book was somewhat similar to what i had predicted. I predicted that she would mature and learn to love her house, name, and family. This was a good prediction and it is what happened. One thing i didn't predict is her loving to write and growing as a women and maturing physically and emotionally.

Reflection on Teaching Experience

I thought that the teaching experience went really well. I liked how we got to experience what teacher go through every day. I thought that the groups presentations, participation, music choices and many other thing went well. One thing that could change is for the audience to be more respective and not talk when people are presenting. Other than that it was a very productive intuitive project for every one.

Journal 18

At the end of the Book Jim is let free by Miss Watson in her will. He was free all along, but if they would have known then Huck and Jim would have never known each other like they did and Huck would have never grown to be a wise young man. Huck is still the same but his view on blacks, wright or wrong, and compassion is totally different.

Journal 17

Huck int his part of the book pretends to be Tom Sawyer in Toms aunt and uncles house. Huck really feels bad for lying to The aunt becasue she has treated his so well.He even sheds a tear when he talks about Sid. Twain shows this compassionate side if Huck because of the transformation that Huck has gone through. Jim affected his life had attitude in a whole different way.

Journal 16

In this section we see a brave part of Huck that really sounds like he knows who he is and what he believes. He tells Tom Sawyer that he doesn't care what the authorities think, but he is going to get Jim no matter what. He says that nothing can really stand in his way because he knows what he wants. Twain wrote this character with a rough childhood and an exciting adventure in which society confuses him, but at the end he find him self and he learns compassion.

Journal 15

In this last sections of the book Huck yet again struggles with what the wright thing to is. He though about Jim day and knight and missed him dearly. He remembers all the things he was taught by Miss Watson and so he wrights a letter to her explaining where Jim is. As he is about to send it he remembers Jim and his compassion. He remembers when Jim thought Huck was lost , the times he called him Honey At the end Huck says i will go to hell then and decides to help Jim. Twain writes this part because it is an important point in Huck's journey where he had a choice between with going with what he beliefs of what other say is write.

Journal 14

In this section of the book Huck truly sees the affectionate side of Jim. When Huck sees Jim in the morning he is moaning about missing his wife and children. Huck couldn't understand that because he thought only white folks care for their family. He was even surprised when Jim told him about how he feels bad for yelling at his deaf daughter. Huck and Jim are growing closer and Huck is seeing a whole new side of Jim that he had never known.

Journal 13

When the crowd of this town approach Sherman they babble on how he should be lynched. Sherman make fun of them and send them back to where they came from. This section is funny to me because the crowd should have take Sherman and lynched but they feared him so much that they didn't do anything but walk away. Twain put this in the book i think to show us the effect of large bosses or intimidating figures on the public.

Journal 12

When Boggs gets shot by Sherman in this section of the book the people just shout Sherman should get lynched, but they take no action. Boggs was a town clown who was always drunk, and Sherman was an intimidating man. When Boggs threatened Sherman, he gets a gun out and ills him in the middle of the town. Twain put this section in the book to show human cruelty and human failures. Sherman saw Boggs daughter running toward him but he still shot Boggs anyway. Twain shows the lack of morals and woeful thinking that lead to chaos.

Journal 11

In this chapter we see the poor white section of a town. This town is beat up with old houses, yards, and tobacco hewing people. Twain explains this neighborhood very vividly because he wants us to understand the standard of living in some towns during that time. He shows the laziness of the people and how they all have nothing better to do than chew tobacco. This filthy neighborhood makes Huck think his living conditions are better than this towns.

Journal 10

In this chapter we see a bond growing between Huck and Jim. Huck had just watched a tragedy so him and Jim ride up on the river relaxed as ever. Huck says he missed being on the river he felt same on it, it was like home to him. Huck and Jim are really getting to know each other and Jim is telling Huck about all his superstitions. Huck sees that Jim is his only family now. He knows that Jim and him have to stick together closely and have each other back.

Journal 9

In this part of the book we see the killing of Buck Grangerford. This shows the affection Huck had toward Buck. He felt really safe for the first time in their family and to know they are all gone it frightened Huck. He saw the whole shooting happen and he was really freaked out. He went to Jim after that wanting nothing to with that place again. He felt sort of responsible for the family dieing because he gave Sophia the bible and the note inside of it.

Journal 8

In this chapter Twain is making a satire about pointless feuds and religious Hippocrates. He shows the Grangerfords family and the Shepherdsons families feud and tells house they don't even know why they are fighting. He also shows hoe curios Huck is towards this pointless feud. This feud isn't just a game twain shows that blood was shed mounts of times over this feud. In church they learn about brotherly love and when Huck looks at their lap they were holding rifles. This a huge satire of the book because stuff thought in church is just for ears and when they are actually near each other they want to kill one another.

Jim

Jim was a compassionate run away slave that wanted freedom for himself and his family. He spent most of his time in Jackson's Island hiding out and trying to get to the free states. Him and Huck develop a very unique bond because they are both free men now. Jim cares for Huck very much he cans imagine living with out him. At one part of the book Huck tricks Jim and Jim explains how if he had lost Huck his journey would no longer be worth it. Jim speaks his mind and is very good at avoiding being caught. He is shown as a illiterate but courageous and compassionate man.

Huck and Jim

Important moments in Jims and Huck relationship is when Huck is hiding in the fog and Jim convinced that he has lost him begans saying how his life would mean nothing with out Huck . Huck the sees that Jim is an actual being and starts feeling bad. Their relationship evolve as Huck starts seeong diffrent sides of Jim a more relatable emotional side.

Journal 7

In this section Huck is struggling with the fact that he is helping a run away slave. Through out the book Huck doesn't know how to feel about Slavery and letting Jim go free. He was taught that slavery was a good thing even in church and even though a part of him knew it was wrong he still questioned his actions. Jim also in this section is shown as a man who can't wait for his freedom. Jim has a lot of plans for his freedom and his family's freedom.

You are Wrong, Mr. Twain

Mark Twain in writing this essay intended to show the cruelty of human beings and how much lower they are than animals. I think that this is pushing it too far because people have a nasty nature in them but they also have a sweet caring side. Looking at something very narrowly can be dangerous and to get the whole picture of human nature you have to look the whole thing. Humans are very unique and some have good nature and some are just evil and taking every body and saying they are all bad isn't fair. Are Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, and Gaundi horrible and worst than animals. I can say that no body is perfect, but humans have compassion and ability to think things through that sets us apart from animals. The human race is a complicating race that is sometimes hard to figure out. We do have a conscience though that we can either listen to or ignore. When we do listen to it miracles can happen civilized society's form and the whole cycle of daily life begin's to get better. There is nothing more beautiful than team work and the ability to come together and help each other out.

Quickwrite

The thing I would like to change about human nature is hatred, envoy, and lust. I think all these things lead to mistakes or tragedy so getting rid of them will better humans other than hurting them. We tend to say that we should just regard these things and maybe they will go away but it is human nature and should be looked at in order to prevent tragedy.

Journal 6

In chapter 15 we see a lot of Jim's personalty. Fist we see him talking about sign and how everything is a sign to him. He is very passionate about and Huck seems to go along with it. We also see Huck's tricking side and Jim's compassionate side. When Huck was gone Jim was really crushed. He even said he was going to turn himself in and he really was hurt when he found out it was a trick. Jim and Huck are really forming a close bond that connected them in a way that they feel hopeless with out each other.

Journal 5

Huck and Jim are out cruising on their small boat. They are managing by stealing, and relaxing the whole way through. You see in this chapter that Jim and Huck struggle with the fact that they have to steal to survive. They want to believe its write but Mrs. Watson is in their head telling them to do good. They are really bonding and enjoying life in freedom and simplicity. They learn how to take care of themselves and avoid contact with people to not get caught.

Year Long Project Update

We would bring in a principle, our principle, or the assistant principle. On a field trip we can go to a collage and learn about the system of education there, or a prison, or a carter school, a private school. Maybe in the next tree or four weeks.

New Version of Huck Finn

I agree to an extent of the writers point of view because he says that America tries to cover up what its done in the past by trying to fix it now. I don't really think that thats a bad thing though because it shouldn't mean that we should still do it just because we done it in the past. In the movie Born into trouble the word nigger is argued over and it had an influenced on me because I don't believe that it should be used. It offends people and learning to use that word is not as important as not offending people.

Great Student Writing

The student's writing was really good because they used a lot of description and told a great story. They used small details that made the writing very scripted yet still it told a good story. My writing I think is decent but still needs a lot of work. First semester we did a lot of free writes and descriptive wring. My favorite assignment was the one based on Kindred where we had to take it back to the slavery time period. My writing is improving in getting descriptive but i still need a lot of work on grammar and word using skills.
